Czech Republic’s Jakub Bitman showed a staggering show of impressive badminton on court when he overpowered his higher ranked challenger Marius Myhre of Norway in Men’s Singles semi-final battle at the Victor Slovak Open 2012 in Slovakia, on Saturday, September
8.
The un-seeded Jakub, who was the underdog in the semi-final clash, showed his remarkable aggression on court and remained successful in throwing out Marius who was the seventh seeded shuttler in the tournament.
The lower ranked Jakub showed a remarkable show of top quality badminton while remaining fast and focused on court and he remained successful in finishing off the winning run of Marius in three games by taking 45 minutes on court.
The seventh seeded Norwegian played up to the expectations in the opening game but could not manage to remain focused in the following sets and eventually crashed out without creating a strong impact on the crowd.
The opening game went as expected as the higher ranked Norwegian shuttler played dominating badminton without facing any trouble from his rival and managed a wonderful gap until the break.
After the interval, Jakub tried his best to create trouble for his rival but failed to put up strong show and lost the first game with a 14-21 score on the board.
However, the second game was shocking for the seventh seeded Marius who could not put up strong show on court and remained struggling against his spirited rival who was impressive in his attacking play and set up a good lead until the break.
Jakub showed a remarkable performance after the break and continued his killing run all the way to finish off the second set with a 21-15 margin on the board.
The deciding set of this nail-biting contest was absolutely stunning for everyone as Jakub put up spectacular show of attacking game and took a striking lead until the break.
After the mid-game interval, Jakub remain consistent in showing his remarkable run on court and managed to bag the set with an incredible score of 21-10.
The in-form Jakub registered his supremacy in the arena by winning the semi-final battle with a 14-21, 21-15 and 21-10 margin on the board.
