Slovak Open 2012: Natalya Voytsekh punishes Hrystyna Dzhangobekova in Women’s Singles semi-final
Ukraine’s most promising shuttler Natalya Voytsekh showed her impressive craft on court and landed a title berth as she stamped her mark over her team-mate Hrystyna Dzhangobekova in semi-final clash at the Victor Slovak Open 2012 in Slovakia, on Saturday, September 8.
The higher ranked Natalya, who entered into the tournament as a fourth seeded shuttler in Women’s Singles draw, played at her best speed and she did not let her rival to put up strong resistance all the way to register a comprehensive victory.
Fourth seeded Natalya was in remarkable form as she employed all of her strokes effectively and in right areas which played a vital role in the easy victory as she ended up the contest in straight sets with a comfortable margin in just 25 minutes.
Meanwhile, the un-seeded Hrystyna could not capitalise her tremendous skills against her higher ranked challenger as she failed to play positive badminton and went down in an easy fashion without creating an impact.
The impressive Natalya started her run in opening game in a relaxed and composed manner as she remained confident and applied all of her shots to keep her rival moving in all corners.
Higher ranked Ukrainian showed her tremendous precision by taking the bird early and managed a reasonable gap until the end of opening half.
After the one-minute break, the incredible Natalya stretched the gap by increasing her speed and she did not spare any chance for her challenger to reduce the deficit. She took the opening set in a convincing fashion with a 21-17 score on the board.
In the following set, Natalya continued playing with impressive control and she showed urgency in getting a strong position by setting up a wonderful lead.
Fourth seeded Natalya was miles ahead of her opponent until the end of opening half of second game.
After the mid-game interval, Natalya raced away without facing even a meagre resistance and finished up the set with an incredible margin of 21-4.
The talented Natalya ended up this semi-final showdown in a crushing way with a staggering 21-17 and 21-4 score on the board.
