Slovak Open 2012: Petr Jelinek shows exit to Andriy Lachkov in qualifying round contest
Petr Jelinek, a spirited shuttler from Czech Republic, played to his maximum potential and remained successful in beating Ukraine’s Andriy Lachkov in Men’s Singles qualifying round at the Victor Slovak Open 2012 in Slovakia, on Thursday, September 6.
The impressive Petr, who is the top seed in Men’s Singles qualifying round, showed a wonderful performance on court by playing at his best speed. He easily showed exit to his lower ranked Ukrainian challenger and wrapped up victory in a phenomenal fashion.
The in-form Petr was on a different level as he played controlled and aggressive badminton in the whole contest and did not show any mercy to Andriy. He ended up this match in straight sets with a striking margin on the board.
In the meanwhile, the un-seeded Andriy was not ready for such a shocking treatment from his higher ranked opponent and remained struggling to take the bird early in the whole contest. He lost the battle in a one-sided manner without showing his aggression.
Petr was impressive in the opening set as he played dominating badminton from starting points and did not take much time in setting up a stunning lead against his confused rival who remained unable to play positive game.
The top seeded Petr commanded the pace of tallies and took a spectacular lead until the mid-game interval.
After the break, Petr remained consistent on court as he did not show any sign of confusion at any stage and remained successful in winning the opening game with a phenomenal 21-12 margin on the score board.
In the second set, the un-seeded Ukrainian shuttler tried to play competitive badminton but he could not control the pace of rallies and remained trailing until the end of opening half.
After the mid-game interval, Petr continued showing his positive run in the match and he did not face any considerable trouble in finishing off the second game with a superb margin of 21-13.
The impressive Petr put up an impressive performance and emerged as the winner in this straight set match with a 21-12 and 21-13 score on the board.
