Slovakia (Outside of Bratislava)?

Question

My girlfriend and I are going to Bratislava this weekend. We thought we might like to get out of the city (Bratislava) for a day. Does anyone have any recommendations of places, in Slovakia, that might be nice for a day trip? Not to far away either, maybe an hour each way tops.

well, it is great idea to see something else but Bratislava.Definitely spa Piestany are worth to see.Then historical city Nitra is SO beautiful, there is a castle, cathedral, nice squares and good night life as well.If you have more than one day I would definitely go to Tatras...mountains, real pride of Slovakia.Enjoy and do not forget to eat nice Slovak food:)

You can choose lot of beautiful castles near Bratislava ,Bratislava is very nice historic city  but nature about 100 KM around Ba is beautiful too.

hi i would advise to visit Slovensky grob(a small village where you can try a fantastic food!!!)

Then you have to visit Modra!

Vienna, Austria. It's so close to Bratislava that they could be a suburb. Might be a little more than an hour but it's still a good trip.

I know it's not in Slovakia but Vienna is just up the road and could be a great day out.

Inside Slovakia, I really enjoyed visiting the spa town of Piestany, which is not far away and you could also try Banska Bystrica, which is in a gorgeous mountainous area.
