Slovenia International 2013: Kuznetsov Vasily beats Kek Jamnik in Men’s Singles qualifying round
Russia’s upcoming player Kuznetsov Vasily found a good start as he played positive badminton won his Men’s Singles qualifying round battle against the local shuttler Kek Jamnik at the FORZA Slovenia International 2013 in Slovenia, on Thursday, May 9.
The higher ranked Kuznetsov, who is the seventh seed in Men’s Singles qualifying round, did not show any sort of confusion in the arena. He was confident and played top quality badminton that enabled him to outplay his Slovenian rival in just 27 minutes.
Russian man was very aggressive from the starting points and he dominated the pace of rallies on crucial occasions. He easily won this qualifying round battle in straight games with a commanding margin of 21-17 and 21-13.
Meanwhile, the un-seeded Jamnik gave a good fight in the opening set but failed to maintain his rhythm in the ending points. He bowed down against his higher ranked Russian challenger without making presence strongly felt.
The impressive Kuznetsov showed a wonderful aggression on court from the starting points of first game by creating a remarkable pressure on his opponent.
Russian shuttler showed that he has got top quality skills on court and remained successful in getting a strong position in the arena.
Kuznetsov did not show any sign of confusion as he remained in complete command of the pace until the one-minute break.
After the mid-game break, Kuznetsov stayed focused in the arena and remained successful in maintaining a comfortable gap.
The higher ranked Kuznetsov continued employing powerful shots in targeted areas and eventually bagged the opening game with a reasonable difference of 21-17.
Things were not favourable for the local shuttler as his Russian opponent played attacking badminton in the following set and managed to set up an early lead.
The well directed smashes and net killings kept Kuznetsov in complete control of rallies and he remained ahead of his Slovenian opponent all the way until the one-minute interval in second game.
Jamnik failed to put up strong show in the second set of this fight as his challenger Kuznetsov played positive badminton and clinched the game with a stunning 21-13 margin on the board.
