Slovenia earns third slot in European qualifier 2012 CEV Junior Volleyball European Championship
The final day of the European qualifier 2012 CEV Junior Volleyball European Championship – Men took place on April 15.
Three matches were held during the day in Zdar nad Sazavou based in Czech Republic. The matches determined the top ranking teams in the tournament.
The first match of the day took place between Spain and Romania and ended as the Spanish got the top slot after making a sweep over their opponents. On the other hand, the second match was played between Slovenia as well as Estonia. The Slovenian team came
into the final match of their European campaign after suffering a defeat at a tie break to both France as well as Spain.
The match to determine the third place in the European qualifier championship between Slovenia and Estonia took on tough and competitive tones as it moved on to four sets. However, the team that was able to secure itself the third slot in the rankings was
Slovenia. The score board showed the following final set scores: 20-25, 25-18, 25-20 and 25-17.
The head coach of the Slovenian team, Samo Miklavc, expressed his jubilation on the win of his team in the following manner, “I can only praise my guys for what they have done here. I have been working with this group for 3 years and their progress has been

The recent win has enabled the Slovenians to move on to the final round of the competition which is scheduled to take place in August this year. The matches are set to be hosted in two countries, Poland as well as Denmark. The Polish city of Gdynia will
be staging the final round matches along with the Danish city of Randers playing host to the contests.
