well it can be... right??? if your a fast and wild driver you could bump and move out of control thus slowing you down to finish the race or even not finish the race...

haste makes more waste

if your just steady and sure... you can almost assure you can finish the race or even win it...

You can put your money on slow and steady. But before I made a bet, I'd check things like average speed, endurance, previous races, breeding and current health as well.
