Question:

Slow computer help please?

Well my new computer had been running very fast for the past 2 weeks but yesterday I noticed it became very slow. I'm having to write this on my other computer because the new one isn't loading up a lot of websites including yahoo answers. I ran avg and it detected 3 viruses and it cleaned them. The only other weird thing was at startup it said some error about 'rundll32.exe' and something about '110x7726cb1b'. The example of it being slower is that it used to load up firefox in around 0.5 seconds but now it's loading up in around 6-10 seconds. When I open up the task manager and look at my CPU usage it's very very low still going from 0%-5% which it was like before. So would there be any reason why it's so slow? I had it turned off all night but it's still as slow this morning.

Thanks.

  1. do a virus scan again

I believe its mostly likely you have a spyware in the back running. May i suggest you go to  window task manager > process and see if theres no malicious programs running

If your clean then defrag and restore you cpu

  2. Go to iobit.com and dowload the free Advanced Windows Care2 V2 personal. The site is a little confusing and has a lot of other downloads just make sure you get the Advanced Windows Care2 V2 personal. Follow the instructions and learn how to use it and your computer will run like charm. After a scan open the start up manager and you can see what programs are starting on boot up and stop unnessary programs from starting

  3. umm , your computer seem to be defected due to the viruses .

  4. Try defragmenting it and disk cleaning?

I had that problem on my desktop as well, i ended up stopping alot of the useless processes i didn't need since it took up space, and just upgrading my RAM.

  5. boot ur system in safemode. run - msconfig - startup -  disable all - restart. then go to control panel - security centre - automatic updates - disable u can solve ur problem kardevi143@yahoo.co.in

  9. Why is my computer slow? I bet you have asked yourself that very question time and time again. And for the most part, you probably just can not figure it out. Ask the guy next to you, and they probably don’t have the foggiest idea either. I mean, you may get the “spyware, virus” answer, but this most likely is not the case.

The first place I check when my computer starts to run slower is the registry. Yes, the registry. Most people don’t even know what, or where the registry is, and especially don’t understand how this can slow a computer down. Let me explain.

Basically, the registry files contain information and settings for all of the software, hardware, operating system software, and anything else running on your computer. Mess any of these files up, and the computer does not know how to function. The computer goes to start up the software, looks for the registry files, and either can not find it or finds something that does not look like it is suppose to look like. It then just sits there: it does not know what to do next. This is where the “hanging” or “locking up” of your computer comes from. These files will need to be fixed.

To fix the registry files, find a good quality registry repair software called registry cleaner and run it on your computer.Top 5 registry cleaners can be found in here:

http://www.fix-system.com/ .It will tell you how many files are corrupted and need to be fixed. Just tell the software to fix it and it restores all of the registry files to their correct configuration. It is really that simple. It may take only about 5 minutes to perform this check. And then as a maintenance item for your computer, I would recommend performing this registry fix at least once a week. This will always ensure your registry files are good, and keep your computer running with no slow, freezing and errors. So if you find yourself asking why is my computer slow, I would check the registry files first.

    Now you can check out

http://www.fix-system.com/ ,there are reviews of top rated registry cleaners and a clear guide to tell you how to speed up your computer. And from there you also can get a free scan to fix any problems such as computers slow, computer freezing, computer errors and getting the blue death screen.

    Hope that can help you.
