If you are an adelphia, customer, they sold out to comcast and are doing thier switching now.  Everything slowed to a crawl for us and didn't get better until we called and went through all the hoops. They said it would self heal in a few days or so, but we made them heal it NOW.  Good luck to you.

  4. how long since defragging and scan disk?

    start

    my computer

    right click - C:drive -

    next screen at bottom - left click 'properties'

    disk cleanup - do it

    then go to second tab at top - TOOLS

    error-checking - put checks in both boxes - START

    (may have to restart computer to get this function to perform)

    still on Tools -

    next section - defrag -

    click analyze - and see what shape it's in

    then if is says so - defrag it

    do you have a spyware program?

    ad-aware SE is a freeware from http://www.lavasoft.com

    will remove the boggies from the hard drive
