  1. Crock pots are awesome, I've used mine for years. I would put in a can of chicken broth or can of cream of chicken soup, but you should also add some water too, crockpots make their own juices from the meat, but you want to keep it moist. If you are going to be gone for the day, just keep it on low and it will be ready by dinner time. Good luck

  2. If you live in Australia, (don't know about other countries) you can buy "McCormicks Slow Cookers" in a packet from supermarket/grocery stores. Especially for slow cookers or crock pots. Instructions on back of packet. Usually you add meat or chicken & veg depending on which one you buy. There's about 6 different ones.

  3. Well, water isn't the greatest liquid to use in the crock pot, because it doesn't add anything to the flavor.  I would use some chicken broth/stock instead of the water.  You could also try using a cream soup, either cream of chicken, mushroom, potato, or asparagus would be good too.  I would also use a waxy potato, like Red Bliss rather than a starchy one, like Russet, because the lengthy cooking process in a crock pot will break down the starchy potato too much.  You will end up with something like mashed potatoes, but not as good.  The waxy potato keeps it's shape when cooked, which is perfect for soups, stews and slow-cooking.

good luck with your first crock pot experience.  hope it works well for you!

  4. i hate crock pots they take a while
