My daughter's birthday party is in 3 weeks and we would like to do roast beef sandwiches for the meal. I have never made this before, and would like to have it in a slow cooker so I don't have to pay too much attention to it on the busy day. Could someone please help me.

1. How do I make roast beef in a slow cooker?

2. What all goes in it?

3. Where do I get the roast beef?

I know, this seems so simple, but I have never eaten this, or made it! My husband is the one who wants this for the party. Please help me! Thank you so much in advance for your help and any additional input! :)

hope one of these works for you!

  2. Go to your deli and get the roast beef ask the person at the counter how much you should go with. Get some Au Jus, enough to fill the crock pot 1/2 full, then add the roast beef, cook till warm.

  3. Ingredients -

    Beef Roast

    Can of mushroom soup

Packet of powdered onion soup mix

    salt

    pepper

    water.

Lightly cover the bottom of the slow cooker with water and put the beef roast in. Cook on high for an hour and then lower the temp to Low adding the mushroom soup (undiluted) - add more water if the roast is not exuding enough fat but you only need to cover the bottom. Cook for min 2 hours and add the onion soup mix - mixing the whole packet with a quarter cup of water (less if there's a lot of liquid at the bottom). Add salt and pepper to taste. Cook for another 3 hours min - anytime after that you should be set to make sandwiches and the mushroom/onion soup sauce makes an awesome gravy. Ideally, if you can, cook it alltogether for a min of 8 hours for best results.

Btw....you can do this in the oven too if you need a larger roast. Do the first hour at 425 and then lower the temp to 275.

  4. All you have to do is put just enough water in it to cover the bottom of the cooker, put your roast in and start cooking.  You'll know when it's done because the roast will just fall apart when you test it with a fork.  You can put bar-b-que sauce in it and cover the roast in that.  If you do that you won't have to put the water in it and just let it cook with the sauce on it.  It's great!!

  5. I would buy a big roast that can fit in your crockpot.  Then I would buy some au jus sauce...it's like a beef stock.  I would also add a package of beefy onion soup mix.  After it cooks, I would take it out and let it rest for about 10 min.  Then I would slice it as thin as you can get.  I would place the meat on a hoggie roll that has been toasted and place some swiss cheese on it and maybe some grilled onions.
