Slower and faster @ the same time, what does that mean? 10pts.?

All right, i've heard this saying a million times. My heart beats slower and faster at the same time (when I'm with him, when i see her, w/e). I know its on that movie, and it goes around myspace. But, what does it mean? Is that possible? I don't understand this saying?? How does this feeling feel?

It beats slow when you are waiting for an answer and when you are nervous, it beats fast when you are excited or worried.

I've never heard that before...what movie are you referring to?

The only thing I've heard that's anywhere close to that is that quote form LiL Wayne... "Her heartbeat plays my favorite song". I don't think it's physically possible for your heart to beat slower AND faster at the same time. It has to be one or the other :-)
