  1. There is still the problem of running out of oil, coal, and other resources.  We need renewable energy such as nuclear, wind, and solar.

  2. It should be a global effort, not a national one, since the the rain forest is being cut done much faster than any reforestation effort can achieve, especially in temperate and cold climates.

and the coal we dig from the ground is returning to the atmosphere Carbon that was buried in the ground by dead land and water vegetation for billions of years, to reverse that, we will need the whole earth to be covered by thick forests.

  3. it would a bit but it will not repair the holes in the O-zone layer..=( but we would have more air and it would prevent holes in the O-zone layer if we did plant trees.

  4. Yes, it would be successful in planting trees.  It would partially offset global warming, mainly after 20-30 years when the trees reached a reasonable size (if drought and increased temperatures don't kill them by then).

Would it make a significant impact?  Carbon emissions outweigh the impact of deforestation by 6X, so even if you replanted every tree cut, we'd still need to cut carbon emissions by over 80%.

So overall, yes, let's plant trees like crazy and enjoy a benefit of a few percentage points in slowed warming, but we can't let that one step distract us from other action.

  5. yap, bcos it will help a lot in reducing the co2 level in the atmosphere andincrease the o2 quantitiy.

  6. Of course! Planting trees will help stop global warming by making the carbon emmisions less and less.

  7. not sure if it will help global warming.

but it will help a lot of other things aswell.

    for one its looks prettier

    and trees make oxygen

and it will make places for animals to live

and im sure theres more reasons to plant more trees

    so why not do it.

  8. It would be successful because afforestation (planting trees) has benefits such as improving the quality of air we breathe, trees increase the supply of wood hence preventing the over-exploitation and destruction of forests and trees absorb carbon dioxide generated by burning fossil fuels such as crude oil, coal and natural gas.
