Im pretty good at driving a stick shift. the only problem i seem to have is slowing down. like when im approaching a stop sign or when someone is simply driving slow in front of me. how do i slow down and pick up speed again without stallin. i find that when i get very slow i start to feel the car jerk. and when at stop signs cuz there are so many in my neighbor hood. i hate putting it in neutral every 2 seconds. what do i do?

  1. easy don't slow down

  2. im with guy above me other than there is no bearing in clutch lol its the throw out bearing on a fork to press clutch in. there is more than one way to slow and stop at stop sign and take off again. most cars will take off again in second gear as long as not stopped. if you are moving at all like a rolling stop downshift to second not first. hold that clutch put car in first use break when stopped rev engine up to 2500 rpms and slide foot off clutch lol dont ease it out dump it. but beware this what i think stop means. dont contact me when police says you pulled a inpropper start or laying drag lol.

  3. Down shift or do a rolling stop and dont use the clutch.

  4. I going to assume your already in first gear, use the clutch!! The whole purpose of the clutch is to be able to deliver power smoothly when the car isn't going fast enough for the engines minimum RPM. Thats what its there for! The only reason to put your car in neutral when stopped is that it holding the clutch in for long periods can wear out the throwout bearing (which is part of the clutch assembly) a bit quicker. But if you only stopped for less than twenty seconds, clutch, clutch clutch!
