  1. Uhh i think if you start to slow your pace of running then your heartbeat will move slower too. if u have ashthma then maybe thats why ur breathing heavy

  2. try going at a constant steady pace. Your heart will adjust and it will feel like it's slowing down.

  3. learn some breathing techniques like breathing in threw your nose and out your mouth it really works it should slow down your breathing and you should also be able to run longer and faster. breathing this way might feel weird but it does work you just have to control the air when it comes out your mouth

  4. this is going to sound wierd but it works for me. i breath in a sort of song/rythum. Kinda like in in out out in in out out instead of just gasping for air or whatever. i remember doing this since seventh grade and i always gor first in cross country and made varsity as a freshman

  5. In a sense yes, b/c if your heart rate isn't as high you won't get so tired afterward.  The only ways to slow down your heart rate while running is to: 1)Run more often, which will lower it more over time (resting and while running)

2)Run on flatter courses or surfaces (hills will raise your heart rate big time even with steady pace)

3)Run when it isn't so hot (heat and humidity will raise and make you tired much faster)

    Hope this helps some.
