slugs always keep their body moist. so they usually come out after rain. and i heard that if you put some salt on a slug, it would be dehydrated and melted. so i wonder what if you drop some salt water on it?

  1. It depends on how much salt in how much water it could go either way

  2. Slugs keep their body moist to keep from drying out.  The amount of salt and water inside their cells needs to match the amount outside their cells, so when you put salt on them, all the water leaves the cell so their is not much water in or out, and a lot of salt in or out, which is what dehydrates them.  So if you put salt water on them that is saltier than their cells, they will dehydrate.  If it is less salty, nothing will happen.  But it would take hardly any salt to be too much and harm the slug.
