Looking for some ideas, my daughter wants a slumber party for her birthday at the end of this month. She is in 2nd grade and will be turning 8. What is a good number of girls to let her invite? Does anyone have any suggestions for fun things to do? (i was thinking maybe pedi's and mani's?)... My daughter wants a hannah montana theme- Also.. since there are only a limited number coming- should we mail the invites? or just pass out at school? Do you do slumber parties right after school? or later? and what time should they go home in morning? My daughters birthday is saturday- but i'm afraid if i do it saturday night girls wont come because of church? Should I just do it saturday night anyways?

  1. Pizza and  movie night.  Saturday night is perfect if you ask me.   I have never not had anyone not show up because of having to go to religious services the next day but that's maybe because where I live, church is not popular.

  2. I would mail invites so that other girls don't see them at school and feel sad. You can start the slumber party whenever you want and they can go home whenever they want! :)

Mani's and pedi's might be nice. Or just makeover type things in general. Maybe kareoke (Hannah Montana kareoke if they have such a thing), or watch Hannah Montana videos and have fun snacks for them.

  3. she should pass them out in school and she should give them out to her best friends. and the slumber party could be after school they can go to a park than have a snack and than they can go out somewhere when they come back they can watch a movie than head out to bed and you should do it on Friday so on Saturday they can go back to there homes or Church.

  4. I would definately mail them. Most schools do not even allow you to hand them out at school because other kids will feel bad.

To be safe you may want to make it on Friday to be sure that all the girls can make it. If you do a Friday it could be right after school but it all depends on if the kids are in any after school activities. Usually we have the kids get picked up just before lunch time the next day. That gives the kids time to all wake up, eat, and get all their stuff together. I like making an eggstrata for breakfast. You make it ahead of time and just have to put the casserole pan in the oven in the morning.

For a fun thing to do it would be nice if they could all make something that they can take home and remember it by. Bracelets are cheap and easy to make. You can just get elastic string and beads or if you want them nicer you can do memory wire. Then the girls can all make their own jewelry. Friendship bracelets can be fun too but if you have a bunch of girls that young it may be hard to teach them all at once.

    Have a fun party!

  5. hey my name is reignbowbrite13! I had a slumberparty not to long ago and it was so FUN!!The key to having slumberparties is having a theme to go with it.I believe that slumber parties should be a thing to remember not an activity of the week to forget about the next day.My advice is to maybe get invites that are different colors and put the color they should wear so it could be callet a reignbow party!(spelled wrong!)or maybe get a bouncer or have an oscars theme!you can also have a raffle but make sure that everyone gets something because you dont want to get someones feelings hurt but im absolutely sure you know how that works :)

  6. Friday night is good, have them over about 2 ours after school so they dont have to take their bags to school with them....and can say a proper goodbye to their parents...8 is still little....manis and pedis will be fun....I would set up a sort of beauty room...with DVDS, snacks and a nail bar....they'll love that...then move them to the bedroom at around 10.00pm...theyll need a rest even if they wont sleep!

Give them hot cocolate to take and some kiddy mags....

  7. well i have 8 or 10 if u can fit them or intivte all of her closes friends and have a moive and makeup game 2 have lots of fun!!!!

  8. Mail them because you don't want to hurt kids feeling and I would say 3-5 girls that is a good size for the 8th birthday! Happy birthday!

  9. Friday night- after dinner around 7.

invites to 5-8 girls. only the closest friends. buy some microphones from libby lou or party supply store. and a movie to settle them down when it is time for sleepy sleep.

and they won't need much help because they will have fun no matterr what. but as long as you have nail polish a boom box and tons of stuff to make ice cream sundae's, chips, shirley temples, and pizza. they will be good to go. pick up some donuts and chocolate milk for breakfast and ask parents to pick up by 11am.

  10. Friday Nights, if you are worried.

Invite like 5 other girls-so it isn't to rowdy.

You should pass them out at school- easier, and the invitations will get to the parents quicker to R.S.V.P

And maybe make it easier on the parents and have it like right after school. In the morning have them come home around 12:00 so you can make a fun breakfast.

Annd mani, and pedis are always fun. Maybe buy some cheap prizes and whoever wins the games you make up (maybe a board game) wins a prize. :D Or something like "N ame this Hannah Montana Song." And play the song. Or... "sing the rest of the lyrics"

  11. that sounds fun.

    buy some cheap wigs and

    feather boas.

    face masks.

    nail polish.

    smelly lotions.

    maybe a few good movies.

    you could make beaded friendship

    necklaces.
