Leonid Slutsky has urged the Nigerian striker to keeping scoring goals to help them win the Russian Premier League title and has denied Aleksei Berezutski’s exit rumours
There is little arguing to the statement that Ahmed Musa helped CSKA Moscow in climbing up the Russian Premier League table after scoring 8 goals in 18 league appearances including a fantastic brace against Kuban Krasnodar at Kuban
stadium.
The Nigerian striker, who joined the Russian outfit from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Seydou-Doumbia-c33175 respectively.
CSKA Moscow head coach, Leonid Slutsky, has lavished praise on the 20-year-old winger-c*m-striker after saying that the African Youth Championship winner has made him proud following his back-to-back fantastic performances this
season.
The 41-year-old went on to urge Musa to work harder to maintain his rhythm and fitness, assuring him of more first-team action in the near future even if Doumbia and Necid return from respective injuries.
As things stand, the Armeytsy are leading the standings with 43 points, a place above Anzhi Makhachkala and five points ahead of the defending league champions, Zenit St. Petersburg respectively.
However, Slutsky refused to get carried away with the current standings after saying that it is too early to predict about who will win the league as there are a lot of matches to be played this season.
“I want to give credit to all players and Musa in particular. The player justified when used as a striker. We gave him a tough role and he proved that he can fit in any role. It is no science why he is the second best player in
the championship with respect to goals and assists, if we look at the stats.”
“Though he has a lot of shortcomings, he can improve for sure as he is young and energetic. I think Musa can continue to play in that role even if we buy a striker this January.” The Russian Cup winner was quoted as saying.”
