  1. LISTEN!  I don't know what these idiots above are talking about, but inexpensive UHF antennas are not obsolete!  I am receiving new digital stations now including HD using my antenna and it wont "stop working" because our stations have already switched to digital and HD in some cases.  What WILL change is that the old analog or non-digital TVs will need a digital converter box to receive digital broadcasts and you can get one anytime, attach your OLD antenna - as long as it has the loop or says VHF/UHF - it will work fine to tune in the new digital stations!

People seriously don't know what they're talking about - I've even seen this misinformation on the Fox News technical section.

  2. I saw some antennas in the Family Dollar Store & also Big Lots.  You should be able to get them cheap as they are soon to be obsolete. All TV signals will be digital next year so they won't work for long. You will have to have a convertor box or new tv if you don't have cable.

  3. Sorry Lucy, but antennas will not become obsolete next year. Yes, the content of the TV signals will be digital (a compressed Mpeg-2 data stream), but it will still be carried over the same TV radio frequency spectrum. In fact, exactly the same channels will be used, but truncated down to channels 7-51.

Try googling "silver sensor" or going to the website below to see what type of antenna will work for you. If you're in a metro area without a lot of hills in the way, a small inside antenna may work fine. But it has to get both VHF and UHF, since most of the channels will be on UHF. "Rabbit ears" won't cut it.
