  1. rpm range 1000 to 5500

  2. Judging from a pic found, looks like a dual plane used around 1955 on SBC's.

Probably good from idle to about 5500 RPM.

It will work fine for what you have listed but it depends on what kind of driving the motor is going to be used for...

For street, dual planes may work better.  For racing/street/strip you may consider a single plane manifold.

  3. It's a dual plane, medium rise intake for the first generation of small block Chevies  from 1955 up. It will bolt on to any small block heads that have the valve cover bolt holes drilled into the outside rails. I believe production of this style of heads stopped after the 1985 model year. These usually have an rpm range of off idle to about 6000 rpm.If you use the right carb on it your combination should produce good power. I'd recommend a 650 or 700 cfm vacuum secondary carb. If you put an automatic transmission behind it, be sure to contact the cam manufacturer for their recommendations for a torque converter. Is your 280h cam from Comp? If so, the range on that is around 2500-6500 rpm more or less, so, you'll definitely need a higher stall speed converter. If you are running a manual transmission, you won't have to deal with all that. Just make sure to use a street/strip heavy duty clutch in it.

    Good luck. Hope this helps.
