I'm 13 and wish to start a small business - am I able to at my age? Also what things do I need to do to have a legal business?

  1. NOT. As you are minor you are not able to incur financial obligations or be responsible for any which precludes you, in theory, from running a legitimate business in the accepted sense..


  2. You do not say where you are based.

    UK

    You should not be working at all under 14.

    You cannot form contracts fully until you are 16

    You cannot get credit until you are 18

    You will not be able to be a company director until you are 16


  3. no u can't start your own business.If you are dedicated though u could plan it but u are barely a teenager so i would say just focus on doing well in school.

  4. It would be very difficult due to you being able to get very little in your name at that age, your best bet would be to find someone over 18 that could do it in their name but with you in charge.

    Although, theres nothing to stop you buying wholesale job lots and selling using an ebay shop, as technicaly its not classed as a business
