I am thinking of starting a small business online. I am going to sell psp pandora battery`s and psp pandora and memory stick bundles. I think if I play my cards right the business will go alright. Can anyone please give me tips for starting a website, how to advertise, Etc.

Get a host and a domain. You can use a static html page but you'll need to do a lot of coding. You can also install CMS, it has a lots for modules/plug-ins and theme ready to use and it needs a little coding. Since your business is an e-commerce, I recommend CMS like Drupal and Joomla. You can find lots of tutorials on the web for html, css, js and php. Good luck!

The first piece of advice I will give would be to write a business plan. It will guide you in the right direction.

My second piece of advice would be to scope out your competition (also included in your business plan). If you find competition (or not) be sure to include in your business model how you will stand out from the crowd. For example offer free shipping and repeat customer discounts.

In your business plan be sure to include an advertising budget. Look at advertising with Yahoo, Google Adwords, and even Craig's list (free).

Get your name out to your target market by distributing business cards, fliers, and email marketing to a focused group of potential customers. Never under estimate the power of networking!

Start a website through Yahoo. Foot for the nicer and more expensive merchant website. Use an external DIY web page designing solution. Also offer on line bill payment through PayPal.
