Question:

Small carpet replacement?

At the corner of my floor, where my ceramic tile and carpet combine, there is a small "hole" about the 2inches by 1inch. They are trying to charge me $174.33. Is this outrageous, because to me it seems so, the vaccum sucked up a snaggle in the carpet which caused the "hole". Would that not be included in normal wear and tear? My neighbor told me they charged her $50 at her old place..... Let me know Thanks!

BTW: I have renter's insurance, would that cover the damages?

  1. If its older builders grade carpet the back is beginning to delaminate and it will pull up like that. If you ask me it is normal wear and tear in a high traffic area. How old is the carpet? It sounds to me if your vacuum just pulled it up it is near replacement.
