I don't know the spelling, if you know what they are called please help me...

this little things fascinate me.

  1. if there not in a shell they might be sandcrabs and if they are small and look like a butterfly wing they are called perywinkles if you open them up they look like a butterfly they are beautiful!!!

  2. Coquinas.  Yup, they're little clams.  At low tide at Santa Monica Beach, California, you can wade out and dig a couple of handfuls of sand that are full of 'em.  Put 'em in a bucket with water, and in a moment you'll see them try to burrow around.
