Small forward, Danny Granger trounces Miami Heat to Indiana Pacers victory, 93 – 77
The Pacers, who had previously lost all four of their meetings with Miami last season, grasped the opportunity this time around to take their revenge by defeating the Heats. Even the advantage of playing on home ground was not enough for the struggling Miami side, who fell short by 16 points in the game played at the American Airlines Arena in front of 19,600 fans.
The Pacer’s Danny Granger came out on top, totaling 20 points and 6 assists with 11 rebounds.
Prominent Players
Beside the leading score of Granger, Brandon Rush also contributed 20 points with 4 assists and 7 rebounds. Point guard T. J. Ford added 13 points, 5 assists and 6 rebounds.
With the clock running and with the pressure mounting, LeBron ‘King James’ James responded, leading the Heats with 25 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Chris ’CB4’ Bosh followed him with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
Game Story
The Heats with a 3 point lead (22 – 19), successfully headed the first quarter of the game.
The Pacers played the second quarter incredibly, scoring 35 points as compared to the 19 scored by the Heats. By the end of first half of the game, the Pacers were leading by 54 – 41.
The Heats caught fire in the third part of the game and scored 23 points, cutting down the deficit to 10 points but even then the Pacers were leading by 74 – 64 at the end of the third quarter.
Wade’s Hard Luck
Miami guard Dwyane Wade disregarded his sore left wrist injury, playing the game with his right hand instead. But his injury continued to bother him all night, hampering his performance.
He went just 1 of 13 from the floor for three points for Miami, which got just four points from its bench. With at least thirteen attempts at the hoop, and only a single point of it, Wade has never shot so poorly ending up with the third lowest point total of his career.
Wade has had some great games for his team this year, but it was a different story altogether this time, a very ugly game all-round for the player.
