Small gift ideas?

Question

My friend invited me to her family's beach house this weekend, along with another friend, and my mom suggested that I should bring some type of small gift for the family considering they invited us and will do our meals/ect.... I am considering just a cookie/candy basket but other ideas? Doesn't have to be anything major just a little something.

My friend has two younger siblings and extended family will be around too, so something like cookies would go well... other ideas? Thanks.

Cookies are a wonderfull idea. Then you don't have to worry about getting something for everyone and this is some thing everybody will enjoy.

If you want to do cookies try baking up a couple dozen if a assortment of cookies (sugar, peanut butter, frosted, what ever they like) find a cool basket (avaliable at walmart, were you can also find cheap cookie dough, or at a local dollar store) line it with tissue paper and arange them in a nice assortment. Or you could put it on a plater and have some cool trinket in the middle.

Edit: Store bought cookies are fine, a little less personal, just do what I said and lay them out don't keep them in the box they came in ( not saying you would but i know people who do ☻)

Gift card? Seriously? Tacky!!!!!

Bake a couple dozen cookies, wrap them prettily, and take them along on vacation to share with everyone. I have a really smashing recipe for lemon cake which is what I bake for occasions like this, and I recommend finding a "signature" baked good which people can associate with you. Then they look forward to it, and even ask if you would make it for their party!

Another idea (if you don't mind paying for it) is an Edible Arrangements fruit basket. This is a basket full of fruit cut and arranged to resemble flowers, and it's very striking. You could have the basket sent ahead to the beach house and be waiting for you all when you arrive!

A cookie basket sounds perfect. If the mom doesn't want the little ones to have cookies, she can control that issue. What matters is that a cookie basket is a nice gesture and very appropriate. Go for it.

Fruit basket, cheese & cracker basket, people are trying to eat a little healthier these days.  Cookies and candy will have the kids bouncing off the walls.
