Which one is correct?

assure you that your contribution is helping me *TO* accomplish my goals, or we should omit *TO* from there?

I know we would say It helped me accomplish my goals. Should the "To" be omitted here as well?

Thank you

  1. The 'to' here is really unnecessary.  When writing, it is best to eliminate as many unnecessary words as possible in order to be clearer and more succinct.

Of course, you need something before 'assure' such as 'I want to assure..."

So a proper sentence would read, 'I want to assure you that your contribution is helping me accomplish my goals.'

You might continue by describing what goals you are attempting to accomplish.

  2. Well first off you misspelled grammar...

  3. i would get rid of "to".

other wise you would have to change the sentence to read: "you are assured the the contribution will help me TO accomplish my goals."-blurey

  4. You could say it helped you in accomplishing your goals.  Or just plain helped accomplish your goals, but I like mine better.  ;-)
