Question:

Small horse stable plans?

I live in New England with humid summers and varying winters... What are things that I should keep in mind if building a small horse stable? (I'm not actually building one but want to just investigate estimated costs, and plans) How would a three-sided run in shelter do for just a few, or even one, horse? I just want some insight on what materials are best and cost-efficient, and what plans work best. THANKS.

  1. OK. we live in New England too, and are building a barn. Just make sure that you have a warm place to keep hoses, so they don't freeze in the winter. A run in shed with 3 sides is good. Make sure that it is big enough, so if there are 2 horses playing, one can get out if he feels threatened. You can also put old fans on the ceiling, so in the summers, the horses can cool off.
