Question:

Small leak on pvc pipe?

I have a very small leak between two pieces of pvc pipe. The location is in the front yard near the garden hose. I wrapped the leak with a fiberglass wrap that is meant to stop leaks and it slowed the leak down but it leaks a little slower now. Should I add another fiberglass wrap or is there another option. I do not want to to change out the pieces if possible.

  1. yeah theres something called a compresion fitting. it slips over the ends of the exiting piep you tighten it down and its sealed. just find out what size pvc you have. it says the size on the pipe, if you have to bring in a small piece of it. or you can get some glue primer, and a pvc coupling and glue it all on. thats if you can pull the pipe closer to the other piece.

  2. cut the pipe and add a piece of rubber hose and 2 clamps.

  3. PVC is easy to repair.  Just cut out the leaking section and glue a new piece in with the correct fittings.  Your Hardware store can supply you with the correct fittings, glue and primer for glue that is needed.

  4. You can take a piece of inter- tube and wrap it around the pipe , then put two clamps on it .

  5. Try this:

It's called mighty putty and will seal just about any type of leak.
