So, im on my period atm and whilst ive been changing my pads i noticed this small red patch about 1-2cm above my clitoris. When i felt it to see if it was painful and i felt a lump the size of a small ball bearing. I cant feel underneath it, but it feels perfectly round, it may not be.

I havn't got a very good relationship with any of my family so i cant tell any of them, and all my friends are in spain at the moment, so the only thing i can do is wait for them to get back on sunday.

Im only 15 and im really worried i may have cancer or something serious like that. Also, i have been feeling VERY sick, but havnt thrown up yet.

Ive lost quite a lot of my appetite and today have eaten 3 ice pops and a yoghurt.

Ive drunk 2 litres of ice cold water and juice, and im still boiling hot.

All these symptoms may not be related to this lump but i dont know.

But im really worried, please help!

Thank you

  1. Get it checked out as soon as possible by your doctor. Everything will be confidential, so don't worry about having to tell your family. At 15, the chances of it being cancer are very low. It may be nothing, but defiantely get it checked out anyway.

    Good luck.

  2. These are actually pretty normal... I  get these from time to time. I try to leave them alone.. but sometimes it does help to squeeze them to "pop" them. If you can pop it, you will feel instant relief.  It's very similar to a cyst on your face.

I definitely recommend warm bath.  (No bubble bath or anything added.)  Also, a warm compress on the area sometimes relieves swelling.

These can be caused by a staph infection.. ESPECIALLY if you shave. If it is infected, you may need antibiotics.

If it doesn't  go away, or starts to feel worse, go to your obgyn. (Not a regular doctor, but an obgyn.) I did have one of these that did need to be expressed in the doc's office. NOT a pleasant experience, but instant relief after it was done. It did require some antibiotics as it was an infection.
