okay it sounds quite rank

im 15 and regularly shave my underarms and for maybe a year now ive had a few small red lumps under each arm?

almost everytime i shave they cut open and bleed and it takes aaages for it to stop.

and they're really quite sore sometimes if i press on them?

i saw something similar in last weeks embarrasing illnesses on telly - except it was a woman who looked like she had a similar problem on her bikini line.

i didnt hear what the doctors said :/

thanks in advance :)

  1. Doesn't bother me.  I have seen these as skin tags, or excess growth of skin in pockets, and they should be left alone, but i agree that they are troublesome for shaving, so you will need to have them removed.

See a doctor, and in the meantime stay AWAY from aspirin/acetylsalycilic acid, which makes you bleed.  Use other remedies for such things as headache, period or whatever.

  2. Its most likely just razor burn.

It happens to alot of women, espcially under the arms because the skin is so senstive,

When you shave try to pull the skin tight, so there are nl small flabs of skin the razor might nip.

Using shaving cream, and lather yourself up.

Its best to shave in the direction of the hair, but its hard to do that under the arms too. So do your best.

Right after your shower aplly some lotion. Lotion with vitamin e, or aloe is really good for the skin.

Add: that goes for any part of the body you are shaving. Even the bikini zone. The more sensitive the skin, the bigger chance of razor burn.

  3. It might be ingrown hairs, but i'm no expert. I'd go to your doctor and see what he has to say about this.

  4. I'm thinking razor burn. Make sure you use shaving cream and don't press down too hard. Good luck!

  5. The woman on embarassing illness had really bad ingrown hairs, I watched it too. It sounds like what you might have. If you have a look, they may have a black dot or you may be able to see the hair. I don't remember what they gave the woman, but she had rather severe ones. I know there is a lotion that you can put on them to get rid of them, I think they sell it in boots, sometimes you can pluck the hair out but I guess that might be painful! If you find the lotion, but then it doesn't work, it might be a good idea to go to your doctor. Hope that helped :)

  6. Hi,

Don't worry about it, it's nothing.

I get them as well when i use a razor, but when i use shaving cream i don't get them.

It's because armpits are very sensitive and the razor's are quite sharp thats why. But creams is nothing it wouldn't effect it.

    Good Luck :)

  7. ingrowing hair or a boil

  8. Hi occasionally I get sore red lumps and my underarms really hurt. I went to the doctor and he told me to stop shaving for a week. It worked and now when it happens which it still does I don't shave for a few days. I know its not nice if you are used to shaving regularly. But it does help and if you are bleeding you may make it worse. If you are worried make an appointment with your doctor just to be on the safe side. good luck :)

  9. I get these sometimes I think their just blocked hair follicles. I find I get them if I shave my armpits and then put deodorant on soon after.

  10. its razor burn

it goes away when you use shaving cream

  11. It's just a few hives!

    It's ok!

    they will go away eventually!

    Just rub cream int them!

    =D
