Small toilets?

Are some toilets smaller than others? We have a very small bathroom and I'd like to replace the current toilet with a very small water saving toilet. ideas? Also I was wondering about the shower surround...currently we have a fiberglass insert. We're going to keep it, but I was thinking about making a border with ceramic tile on the wall around the insert. Is that weird? Or do people do that?

  1. Yes you can buy smaller and more economical toilets. But i heard they dont flush as hard, meaning less pressure. You can def. put ceramic tile on your wall around the insert. Not on the insert itself though.

  2. toilets come in varying sizes  , you can get a spec sheet almost any toilet from ost manufactures website (kohler , american standard , toto )  , just keep in mind round front toilets are usually shorter  than an elongated style . also keep in mind  what the rough in measurement for your toilet , most common is a 12 inch rough  but can be 10 or 14 inches. measure   the distance from the bolts to the back wall , don't forget whatever you wall is will be subtracted from that measurement  , sheetrock would be 1/2 " think etc
