I need to write a story for my creative writing class at school, and much of the story takes place on a Caribbean Island. The story also takes place in the 80's/90's. The island needs to be inhabited by a small town of LOCALS, not tourists, and should also have like a small port. I know it's really specific and all, but I want to be realistic.
