Sometimes when you have a conversation with someone and they tell you something that makes you shocked, you might say: 'No way!' or, 'Get out!?', how would you say this in italian? Not the exact words, but an expression in Italian that you might do when someone says something that shocks you, or that you don't believe. Thanks in advance!

  1. I also add the literal translations but of course they do not make any sense in English :-)

"Non ci credo!" (literally: I don't believe it!)

"Non è vero!" (literally: It's not true!)

"Ma dai!" or "Maddai!" (come on!)

"Ma per favore/piacere!" "Ma fammi il favore/piacere!" (literally: but please! and "but pleas, do me the favour!)

    "No!" ("No!"  :-)

"Ma non mi dire...!" (literally: but don't tell me...!)

    "Stai scherzando!" (you're joking/kidding!)

  2. There is a traditional Italian expression, that maybe can be used ironically or sarcastically : "Se non è vero, è ben trovato" : '(Even) if it isn't true, it's well conceived/made up'

  3. No way! - Per niente!

    Shut up! - Taci!

    Unbelievable! - Incredibile!

    Yeah, right! - Figuriamoci!

    You're kidding! - Scherzi!

    If only! - Magari!

Oh my god! - Oh dio mio!

    Hope I helped! :)

Non ci credo (I don't believe that is true)

    Ma va la'! (Get out!)

Non dire cazzate (dirty word) (Don't tell me lies)
