so I am breast feeding, and my daughter and i and always favored to right breast a little more. My left is now starting to not produce as much and is getting quite small. My daughter sleeps through the night and when I woke up this morning my right breast was full and my left was the same as 10 hours before. If I almost strictly breast feed on the left side all day and and do the right every 2 or 3 feeds will that help get my supply up on the left breast and even them up?

  1. Welcome to the LSBC (lop-sided boobie club).  It happens.

Try pumping the left boob if the baby has fed on the right.  It's supply and demand, if the baby isn't demanding milk from that side, it stops supplying it.  You could just feed strictly on the right side, and have special bras made to fit different sized b***s... or you can pump the left one.

  2. Offer the smaller breast first every time. She probably will fuss more but the more you can get her to take on that side the more that side will produce.

Also just because it is smaller doesnt mean it is not producing. After a while your b*****s get used to what is being required of them. Unfortunately babies tend to have a favorite side. All you can do is be patient, always try that side first even though you know you will have to switch eventually, and pump if she really isnt taking anything.

Good luck  My son did the same but it did go back to almost normal after I stopped breast feeding.

  3. It could help but uneven b*****s is normal. Feeding her from that side should increase the production

  4. If you dont want to nurse on the left then you have to at least pump it or else you will lose the milk and be lopsided. I personally would start to nurse a little more on the left and pump in between to build up your supply

  5. this happened to me. you can try to use the smaller breast more but my little one refused the smaller breast so i didn't have a choice. after a few months he was having both but he drinks longer on the bigger breast, however my milk supply is still available on the smaller one but there's more coming from the big one. anyway as long as they're having milk don't worry about it, you just have to pad out the cup of your bra to even them out

  6. This happened to my mom but she didnt breastfeed. she didnt have big breast to begin with but after she gave birth one of her breast was srinking, and it was really noticable. so she got a boob job just to get things back to normal. i have a feeling i will be the same way. we dont know why this happens and i dont think you can prevent it.

  7. Lopsided! What can I do?

...When baby prefers one side, or when supply or breast size is greater on one side
