Smallest town??

Question

I want to move to Ireland. My grandfather was born there and died about 5 years ago. I have never been there before, so I was wondering what the smallest town, with the least amount of tourists was. Any help would be great. thanks.

my sisters were born in louth, dundalk is the dreariest town in the country. the smallest smallest county town in Ireland is Carrick on Shannon. but there are loads of towns that are just a church, a post-office, a pub and a GAA pitch

In the county of Cork there is a place called "Glenville", "Glenn an Phrecháin" =valley of the rooks in Irish.

It is on a side road half ways between Cork City and Fermoy.

The town has about 20 houses, a church,a pub, a school, a fire station, a smithy and 3 shops, 1 of them with petrol pumps.

If you ever meet a tourist there, they're after loosing their way, (or maybe the odd American in search of their roots).

It is a phantastic place, and the locals are the most welcoming people on earth.

The surroundings are lovely, and there is a road around the village following the river Bride for a bit, that's a lovely walk.

If you want peace and quiet and lovely neighbours, that's the place for you.

I bet there are many others nearly like it, though.

smallest county in Ireland is Louth, known as 'the wee county'

cant see them having a lot of tourists, I've never heard of there being much to do in Louth. at this time of the year there's not really many tourists anyway. during the summer months spanish students pour in to all towns and cities. they're never any trouble but they do add to the amount of people around. you should visit the town/city your grandfather was from because there'd probably be more people there who'd know him and be able to help you settle in. good luck with the move :D

THE SMALLEST COUNTY IS LOUTH. ALL OF IRELAND IS MADE UP OF TOWNS AND VILLAGES EVEN THE CITYS DUBLIN MUST HAVE ABOUT 40/50 TOWNS AND VILLAGES. THE LEAST AMOUNT OF TOURISTS WOULD BE IN THE MIDLANDS COUNTYS, LOOK UP CAVAN, ROSSCOMMON, LONGFORD, WESTMEATH.
