Smallville/superman?

Question

smallville has been around for a long time now but ive seen it just recently. i have questions about the series. hope they all get answered. thanks in advance!

*why do some of the people in the superman stories have the initials LL in their names? (Lana Lang, Lex Luthor, Lionel Luthor, Lois Lane) coincidence?

*what was the issue about Lana's pregnancy? was she not really pregnant or was there a problem with the baby? like abnormalities or something?

*in the original superman movie, Clark met Lois for the first time in the Daily Planet, but in Smallville, they are teenage friends. how so?

From what I understand doubling the initial in comic nomenclature is a device used to make a comic book character's name easier to remember - Bugs Bunny, Roger Rabbit, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Daffy Duck, and so on.

Jerry Siegel, Joe Schuster, and later writers of the superman comics apparently adopted this tradition. Eventually it just became a running gag.
