Smart Roadster Coupe miles per gallon (MPG)?

Hi, Just bought a smart roadster coupe and fulled the tank to the top and now done 280miles and got to fill up again. Smart say for urban you get 44mph but this doesn't look right otherwise i'd have got around 400 miles. Can you let me know how many miles you get on a full tank please if you own one of these cars?

The book figure for your car is 55mpg. The tank holds 35 litres.

So you're right, you should get 400 miles to a full tank unless you're constantly doing short trips or are always driving in town, or there's a genuine problem with it.

I do not own one. They look OK. The only way you will get 44mph out of it will be driving it sedately everywhere with gentle acceleration. If you have the air con on then you can wave goodbye to an extra litre of full every 60miles depending on the make & modal.

It depends on how you drive it.

Accelerating quicker or driving faster makes a big difference.

i have the standard smart roadster and if i drive it in manual and at 50 mph I do return approximately 50 mpg.  However, as with these cars, I like to stick my foot down and this really kills the mpg, you can see the bars drop on the fuel guage.
