ok, i'm sure all of you out there have gotten some real smart-allick answers back from your questions. my opinion is this: they don't even NEED to be on here if they want to be stupid. and so for the people who give negative opinions, when all we need are polite suggestions. what do you think? let me say that these ARE opinioins about THIS topic.

  1. This is really for Toonces: Believe it or not, some of us (at least I) just do not suffer fools gladly. Between the ghastly spelling, syntax, and punctuation, the brain-numbing questions like "how many times a day do you cross your legs?', the general ignorance, I will come up with a snappy answer if the situation calls for it. Learn to deal or go to "I wuv Barney.com or something...

  2. A lot of people in certain sections of this forum just want someone to agree with them, no matter how ridiculous their opinion is about a situation. Eventually most of us learn which questions are THAT type question and no matter how polite your suggestion is, it's wrong in the eyes of the asker, so some folks just let them have it with both barrels, and in all honesty, I think they need it sometimes.

On the other hand, there are some folks here that are just here to harass and belittle. Those are the ones that need to find another way to make themselves feel better.

  3. I have only ever asked 2 Qs and got smart-aleck answers to both lol. not helpful, which is why I don't bother asking in YA anymore. When it comes to As I do my best to avoid the "stupid" Qs as I know I would only end up getting a VN. I can only pass on my knowledge, hopefully in a positive way, that is what the site is about. Some may view answerers responses to be negative simply because they do not re-inforce their own opinion, in that case they needn't have asked the Q in the first place. At the end of the day, I have been asked, have given my opinion, hopefully constructively. I can do no more than that, I do not take it too seriously or personally because it is the internet, a world full of strangers. .

  4. People who are unhappy and have c rappy lives come on here to mouth off because they would never get away with it in a real life situation.

This is the only way they can feel in control.

They are sad creatures...just remember that.  It is very annoying to me too but I can't fix their problems so I try to ignore it...if it is really offensive you should report it.

  5. I only give smart aleck answers to stupid questions.

  6. It is quite irritating when you ask a serious question and someone gives a childish answer, however I think everyone is entitled to their opinion no matter how stupid it is.

  7. There are lots of different kinds of people on YA.  I choose my words carefully.  There is always someone who does not agree with what I say.

  8. Don't take it too seriously.   I had a REALLY idiotic answer to one of my questions, and when I responded to her response, she became a troll.

Y/A is not real life although some seem to take it as such.  It is a fun environment.  Just be happy that your life must be SO much better than theirs for them to reply in a smart-alecky manner.

Troonces has it pretty much right.

P.S.  What is truly funny is that some are found in "Etiquette"!  :O).

Peacefrog:  Like your questions and answers and want to add you as a contact - but can't do it.  Too bad.

Lol - Sorry too - I have a little troll: ♥ who has several accounts and like to thumbs-down me.  It is good to see she cares so much :O).

  9. Some questions deserve no better.

At least once a day, someone will ask "How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?", and to make matters worse, over half will mis-spell "Tootsie Pop".

Then there are the questions in the political area, things like "How do you feel about Presidential Candidate X's being an alien" or some inane question that has no basis in fact.

Some questions almost sound good, but insist on altering the subject's name, such as "Barack Bin Osama" or "McBush" or "McSame", so you know the question was asked insincerely, only wanting those who agree with them already to tell them how clever they were to come up with the cute name, which they probably copied from someone else anyway.

I'm all for smart aleck responses to questions posed by idiots.
