  1. I wouldn't recommend taking only two classes while in the semester at a four year university. If you are going to have a job while in school, you might want to consider a junior college which not only gives you cheaper tuition but also varieties as far as time 'cus I think it's more aimed toward the student with working/other responsibilities.

It is definitely going to take you a lot longer than four years to graduate if you intend on taking only two courses. To obtain an associate degree, you'll need 60 units and for a bachelors, it's 120 units. Each class is usually about 3-5 units and with only two classes a semester, you can do the math. Try to look into other options as far as more classes such as distance education which gives you online/television courses (if possible).

    Good Luck.

  2. If you need the money from working then yes. If you don't then take more classes and forget the job, or try work study, thats fewer hours. The more classes you take the sooner you can graduate and get a better paying job.

  3. 2 classes???  You are going to be taking many more than that if you want to graduate.  You will be taking about 5 to 6 classes a semester in a normal schedule.  If you only take 2 classes in a semester it will take you about 10 years to graduate.

  4. it will take you longer to graduate if you do two classes a semester because it's only part time.  it also effects any financial aid and loans you receive.  if you need to work while attending school look into Work Study programs.  You'll be employed by your school, and they work around your class schedule. Only do part time if you have to.

  5. I think the smartest thing to do is to try two classes and if that is easy for you to handle try three the next semester.  Two classes is not really a lot, and you may feel like you don't want to go to campus if it's only for two or three hours. (You'd be more likely to skip class). Also you have to be at least a half time student to get federal financial aid. You might want to have three classes on your schedule just in case you end up dropping one.

I worked full time when I went to college and always signed up for four classes, in the beginning it was easy because most classes are just intro  level and they are easy. But in my last two years, I had to drop classes in order to pass them and still work full time. It took me 6 years to graduate.

Weigh out what you want to do, but if you want to graduate in less than eight years, maybe try signing up for three or four classes a semester.

  6. I go to a 4 year college AND work. I have actually held two or three jobs while going to school, although I don't recommend it. It mostly depends on whether or not you want a full or part time job and how many classes you intend to take. A full time student usually take 5 classes every semester, which carry about 3 hours each class per week plus homework. It is perfectly reasonable to have a part time job while doing this, or even a full time job, depending on how well you can balance your work load. In the end, it is usually dependent on how much you can handle as an individual. If your goal is to get a bachelor's degree, then it will slow you down to take only 2 classes. Since it is usually 5 classes per semester and 8 semesters, you will need about 40 classes. At 2 classes per semester, this will take you 20 semesters (which would be about 10 years of school - unless you plan to do winter or summer sessions). Good luck! Hope you can find the balance that is right for you :)

  7. DAAAAAAAAAAMN!!!!!!! What kind of work are you doing or want to do that occupies all of your time?

  8. actually I wondered the same exact thing man. I don't think it is. Unless you highly highly value having time with friends or family or just doing other things. but last year i took 2 classes one semester and 3 in the other while i was working about 30 to 40 hours a week. it sucked balls because it'll take you forever to get all your credits. what i did is just used the time where i would normally be hanging out with people and used that time for studying. because sooner or later, your just gonna want to get the s**+* done.

  9. If you want or need to have that job its up to you to decide.  A person can only afford so much and college is an advantage in life.  If you know what you want to do start taking classes and see how it goes.  Often times you can take online or weekend classes to help with your work schedule.  Just beware that sometimes schools and states change their degree requirements and if you take 2 classes at once you may need to take classes over again near the end.

  10. It's absolutely not smart to do 2 classes in a 4 year college.  You'll graduate in 8 years.  Take a minimum of 4 classes, adding up to 12-15 credits.  If you take 15 credits per semester, you'll graduate with a bachelor's in 4 years.  Plan out your schedule well so you can fit a part-time job in.
