Smartphone Tethered to Laptop...what will I see?

I am in the process of getting a smartphone and I will be tethering the device to my laptop when I'm not in a WiFi hot spot. My question is, when using my device as a modem, when I pull up Yahoo.com or any other website, will I see the HTML version or will I see the mobile web version?

  1. What cell phone service do you have? If you have the cell phone tethering service, the carrier should instruct you on how to get the software to actually use the phone as a modem. If you are already past this step, then the answer is yes, it will be full html. It will be just like on wifi only you are getting the data sent through your carrier's network
