Smelly clothes?

What's the best product for getting smells out of clothes, i have bakers clothes and i've soaked and soaked and washed and washed. and still no good.

wash in cold water with 1/2 cup baking soda in the wash cycle added to the detergent and 1/2 cup white vinegar in the rinse cycle. this gets the stink out of everything even my kids ammonia smelling peed sheets and blankets.

The only thing that will get odors out of synthetic fabrics is borax (yes, good old 20 Mule Team Borax, sold in boxes alongside the detergents). A half-cup added to a regular wash not only deodorizes, but is an excellent cleaning booster. For serious odors, pre-soak items for 30 minutes in borax and warm water.

I have used Febreeze. I used to find it specifically for laundry but somehow I have not seen it in a long time so... I just use a little in the wash and it takes care of any odors I have run across with no problems.

try the baking soda and vinegar if that does not work try lysol in the brown bottle they used to use it to get the smell out of cloth diapers and keep diaper pails from stinking up your house worth a try no

I agree with MJ.  I've used both baking soda and white vinegar and they work great.  I usually run a 2nd rinse cycle and put in the vinegar or baking soda.  You may want to let it soak for a bit before running through the wash cycle also.

The other good thing about vinegar is it helps remove left over soap from the clothing and helps make it so the material lasts longer by strengthening the fibers or something.

Add Pine Sol or liquid Spc N Span in wash load.

or do like we did with cloth diapers (rinsed first of course):

had a bucket of water (with a lid) and have either Gain, Borax or 20 Mule Team in water.  Keep adding your clothes in this 'pre-soak'.  When ready to wash, toss clothes and water into machine and put on a spin cycle.  Now, wash these items as usual.
