Smiler Jack to sweep through the Coral On TV Stayers Trophy – Heat 2
Taking their chances with the £150 prize money of the Grade OR Coral On TV Stayers Trophy – Heat 2 are six highly competitive and versatile hounds. They will take up the 575 metres flat race challenge on Monday, 19th November at Romford.
The most rigorously trained hound for the race tonight is the two-year-old black hound, Smiler Jack. His rankings even before the training sessions were decent, and he had been entered as the favourite for the last eight outings out of which he won half.
The C. Mosdall trained won the Book Our Summer Sizzler In The Chase Restaurant Stayers on 24th August, 2012 at Romford over 575 metres.
The fourth trap was quick to set into a high gear. Despite getting bumped when racing in the third position, the two-year-old took 35.34 seconds to make it to the other end.
The favourite entry had the final 6 ¼ lengths at his disposal which set Bridge Jane as the runner-up.
Hondo Black’s son struck a back-to-back when he timed the 575 metres of the Coral Champion Stakes – Heat 5 in 35.52 seconds. The race on 31st August, 2012 at Romford saw the blue jacket building up a distance from the rest of the lot, and staying by the rail almost throughout the race.
Keeping a firm grip on the leading stance, the most favoured entry led Longwood Hawk by 5 ¼ lengths.
Smiler Jack missed the chance of posting a hat-trick on the profile after scoring a second position in the Coral Champion Stakes 3rd Semi Final on 7th September, 2012 at Romford over 575 metres.
Racing from the first trap this time, the two-year-old lost the race by 2 ½ lengths after getting entered as the favourite.
After a pair of second scores, the black hound out of, Precious Beauty, made an impression in the Coral Supports The RGOA Stayers on 5th October, 2012 over 575 metres.
Breaking from the third trap and drawing clear early on gave him the provision to nail the track distance in 35.43 seconds while taking lead of the final 6 ¾ lengths.
