Whats the difference between a Smoke Machine, and a Hazer? Is it true that Hazers don't set off smoke detectors?

A Hazer is a type of smoke machine!

Hazers do what the name implies...It make the room hazy (to be used in conjunction with dj lighting and lazers.)

A smoke machine typically blasts a stream of fog and dissipates. Some other types of fog machines include low lying foggers, economic smoke machines(the kind you find at Walmart around Halloween) and professional smoke machines.

As for smoke detectors; some fog machines can set off "optical" smoke alarms because they can sense water based particles as smoke. If, you want to know if a fog machine will set off your alarm, Test it!
