Smoke alarm keeps going off...?

Question

One of the smoke alarms in my house (in my bedroom) went off for only a few seconds and then stopped. It happened three times in the last 10-15 minutes. None of the other ones are going off. I've checked the room thoroughly and nothing is burning/on fire. Has this happened to anyone before?

replace the battery should have a 9volt for backup power

Never the one by my bedroom but the one in my hallway next to my garage was doing the same thing as yours... When I called the fire department, they notices that when they opened the garage door, the heat from my car was setting it off... You should also check for a reset button...

Sounds like a low battery to me.  You are lucky.  Mine did it in the middle of the night.

It is probably some dust inside the detector. Blow on it very hard or get a can of the oxygen spray used to clean computers. I have a rental home and one smoke detectors had this problem.  We changed the battery, it still went off. After we cleaned the dust thoroughly, it stopped beeping.

low battery probably or you can just take the batteries out like i do.....not a good idea though

Try changing the battery. A lot of them use that for a low battery alarm.

Could be you just need to change the battery.. lots of alarms will sound when the battery is low..  If the battery isn't the problem, it is possible you need to clean the sensors..
