Smokeless tobacco and U.S. airports

Question

I'm planning on staying in Usa for a couple of months, and therefore i want to take with me some snus (swedish smokeless tobacco). So i was just wondering if it's legal to take with me, say 10 cans (250g) through the airport? I'm also under 18 ( i become 18 a few days after i arrive).

I don't know, the law in the US states you must be 18 (or 21? I never understood it...) to BUY tobbacco products, but they say nothing of using them. So you should be fine there.

  However, the airline may want you to open a can and chew it, to make sure its not a bomb and/or has poison in it.

  Other than that I see no reason why you wouldn't be ok.

EDIT: To answer your additional details, No i don't think so.

Then again I've never flown into this country with tobbacco or any other things, but I doubt they will tax you.

well, as long as it's not like ... related to marijuana or cocaine or any other kind of illicit drug .. you should be ok i think.  some states the legal age to buy tobacco or tobacco products is 19, others it's 18.  and if you don't have I.D , they aren't going to sell you any so make sure you stock up if you smoke a lot

i would double check it though by going to a U.S government site or something

I would assume that it is legal to put in your suitcase that goes under the plane. Since you're under 18 I wouldn't carry it in your carry-on though.
