I'm planning on staying in Usa for a couple of months, and therefore i want to take with me some snus (swedish smokeless tobacco). So i was just wondering if it's legal to take with me, say 10 cans (250g) through the airport? I'm also under 18 ( i become 18 a few days after i arrive).

  2. I don't know, the law in the US states you must be 18 (or 21? I never understood it...) to BUY tobbacco products, but they say nothing of using them. So you should be fine there.

However, the airline may want you to open a can and chew it, to make sure its not a bomb and/or has poison in it.

Other than that I see no reason why you wouldn't be ok.

EDIT: To answer your additional details, No i don't think so.

Then again I've never flown into this country with tobbacco or any other things, but I doubt they will tax you.

  3. well, as long as it's not like ... related to marijuana or cocaine or any other kind of illicit drug .. you should be ok i think.  some states the legal age to buy tobacco or tobacco products is 19, others it's 18.  and if you don't have I.D , they aren't going to sell you any so make sure you stock up if you smoke a lot

i would double check it though by going to a U.S government site or something

  4. I would assume that it is legal to put in your suitcase that goes under the plane. Since you're under 18 I wouldn't carry it in your carry-on though.
