Question:

Smoking, help me cut back?

I don't smoke alot, if i'm at home mabye a few a day but if im out with friends or having a good night out then i'm nearing a packet,

this may be a stupied question but I just started thinking about health issues ect, I don't want to quit just cut back..

anyone got any tips or ideas on how to cut back,

I normally snack if I don't smoke..

  1. Quit! Do not cut back. Reducing the quantity of cigarrettes-a-day is much more difficult than quitting, really! I was a chain smoker for 10 years, but I have quit since 25 July 2007.

    Just quit and count the days, it will boost your marale. When you reach 1 month, count months. and then years.

    You will no longer desire for it after just 2 months. thats it! ! !

    The first day is always difficult.


  2. If your going to cut down on the number of cigarettes you smoke daily, then switch to Lite cigarettes. This way you only run the risk of getting cancer lite. Stop smoking period. They are totally bad for your health, they stink, and they cost allot of money, need I go on and tell you more. Both you and I know that your going to do whatever you want so, go ahead and smoke if you want. You've heard it all, you've got all the information and you know what's going to happen if you continue to smoke. If your smart you'll do the right thing and if your not then you won't. I'm not even going to say good-luck to you because you know it all. Your going to die sooner and miserably. The choice is yours, go for it.

  3. look I've been smoking a pack a day 4 a long time but the best thing is to buy a brand you don't like trust me it worked 4 me

  5. forget it - cutting back is doing almost as much damage as not having quit at all.

    it's like having your arm chopped off and putting a bandaid on it - you will still bleed out.  It won't necessarily even be at a slower rate because once the cells in your body becomes cancerous there is no slowing them down - only serious treatments.

    You need to quit and do it cold turkey - just do it.

  6. Here is a tip somebody said (it works on anything if you understand it)

    "Never stop doing something, start doing something else, it will be easier"

    I mean instead of stopping smoking, start chewing gum, or eating candy.
