Smoking and buying age in Croatia?

i am going on holiday and need to know what the legal age is to buy and smoke cigarettes, I'm 17 and am going on holiday, i think the age is 18 but if anyone has gone how strict is the law over there i mean when i went to poland i could buy cigarettes at age 15, no-one cared they just wanted the money.

please no answers from wikipedia, and no comments about how bad it is either.

  1. Well the thing is like this:

    In Croatia is prohibited to sell cigarettes and alcohol to persons under 18!

    Und until last year nobody cared about that low but lately the inspections are rigors so shops and supermarkets are afraid to sell to minors but that don’t mean tat is impossible to buy on the market or small shops.

    Regarding drinking and smoking I don’t know of any low prohibiting that witch means that if you got your bear or cigarettes you can enjoy them except if police books you for acting drunk and disorderly ( and that happens if you are in middle of street jelling breaking stuff or fighting other people)
