  1. Just be honest. It's the best way to do it. If her mom was going to be upset about it she would have said something already...don't you think?

  2. She's just going to have to take responsibility and face any possible consequences.

    Tough ****. Learn from it.

  3. blame it on you

  4. Hopefully her mum did not find it then your secret will be safe.

  5. There are a myriad of reasons to own lighters if you don't smoke.  I don't, and I keep one around for emergency light, my stove's pilot, the occasional sparkler or firecracker to light off, or as a courtesy to light my friends' smokes.  If none of these are good enough, say its for sterilizing some tool she uses, for example, if you get a splinter, you push it out with a pin, but if you want to avoid infection, you hold the tip in a flame for a bit first.

fire is useful for many things besides just lighting up a cigarette!

  6. ooooo tricky Q

her mum prob found it and put it in the bin

her mum will prob confront her when she gets a chance

    about the risks of smoking....

smoking is horrible......its bad for your skin you can get cancer....

you can die young....etc etc list goes on....

    plz stop smoking....

  7. she could say she uses it to light incense sticks or candles

  8. Smokers stink...rest assured, her mum will know...unless she smokes too, in which case, she might not!

  9. Doesn't mean her mum took it . But if she smokes she will smell like an old ashtray anyway . And non smokers have a keen sense of smell

  10. smoking is bad for you, and if shes young enough to be afraid of her mom knowing she should be found out and straightened up.  with all the knowledge given to kids today the only excuse is stupidity, so hopefully she'll grow a brain while shes grounded.

  11. A non-smoker can smell it. It sticks to your hair and clothes. You're not fooling anyone. Her mum already knows.

  12. She bought it for candles.

  13. BOUGHT IT FOR CANDLES.. BETTER EXCUSE EVER.. trust me

  14. Tricky situation!

Is your friend completely sure she didn't just misplace her lighter? Anywho, if your friend wants to confront her mom and ask her about it, the best possible thing I can think of is saying :

" Hey mom have you seen __________'s lighter? I was playing with it and forgot to give it back and they just reminded me I still have it. I forgot where I put it, and I was wondering if you had seen it? "

Obviously your friend should make up a name, or use another friend's name (not you). If her mom asks why so and so would have a lighter say she collects them.

I collect lighters myself, and my parents freaked out when they found out because they thought I was smoking. At that point I hadn't been smoking, I just liked playing with lighters.

Now I smoke, and have lost about 6 lighters, lol.

Anyway, good luck to your friend! :)

  15. Say she bought it to light her incense sticks ( which she should buy before she uses that excuse). It does work =]

  16. If her mum found it wouldn't she of asked your friend about it?

It could be that she's just lost it

  17. she bought it for her candles, eyeliner, incense. But I lose my lighters all the time lol...I will think I put it somewhere when I didnt lol

  18. if your friend smokes her mum ALREADY KNOWS!! you can smell a smoker a mile off.  I used to smoke out of my bedroom window and think i was really crafty but the smell wafted all round the house. You can smell it on your clothes, your hair, everywhere. And impulse body spray doesnt help!
