  1. It's unfortunate that he's choosing to do something irresponsible.  Regardless of the fact that he's not smoking it around kids, he's still doing something illegal, unhealthy, and just plain stupid.

  2. If the authorities were to find out, it's likely an investigation would be opened by child protective services.  During the investigation, they would attempt to determine first of all, if any abuse has taken place.  Like is the child being harmed, physically or emotionally.  They will also make sure the child isn't being neglected.  They will check the home for any evidence of drugs and also for things like cleanliness, if there are adequate things for the child (i.e. food, bedding, clothing, diapers).  Once they've done those basics, it's likely they will require that the parent/s (assuming that drug use has been proven) take parenting classes and most likely some sort of drug abuse recovery program.  Once the parents have completed all of this, and proved themselves able to adequately care for the child, there will be surprise inspections during a "probationary period".  After that's over, you're in the clear.  However, if a report is ever made about the parents again (whatever it is), they WILL take past occurences into account and go from there.  It is never Child Protective Servies intent to simply come into a home and "take" a child away.  There goal is always to come to some sort of resolution where the child is able to stay with its natural parents, so they will work with the parents as much as possible.

  3. no they wouldnt take the kid.

  4. Nope. They won't take them away. My dad got caught and they made him do community service, and he was still with his wife and their five kids at the time. Nothing happened with his wife or kids, just community service.

  5. Depends upon the sentencing.....no the children would not immediately taken, but probation/drug testing.  In extreme cases a social worker visits, then determines how well the children are cared for.  It takes alot of evidence to remove children even from very harmful situations as foster care is over crowded.  THC (chemical in marijuiana) stays in the human system for 30 days, so drug tests can determine if one has been smoking.  Not a good thing....and children are smart, they will figure it out.....talk in school....cases of where teachers have intervened on behalf of the children and gotten authorities involved...child abuse/neglect cases (psychologist)

  6. ooh u a bad boy

  7. if the child wasn't present then it would be just his actions being reprimanded... You shouldn't be a parent and do drugs anyways... all the money spend on that c**p could go into a college fund for that child!! and what are you talking about finding out about the job? does he have a job that drug tests and will fire him if he pisses hot? Well he should get caught nobody should be "high" taking care of a child...

  8. IF he lives with the child and is arrested and they find out he has a child they will probably investigate and in some cases take the child away. If he is a single parent of the child then most definately they will take the child away.As for permanently taking the child away that depends...if they give him the option of taking drug classes and give him a possibility of regaining custody then he would be able to get the child back BUT for most cases its a done deal because there are too many parents out there getting their so called "fix" that they "need" and their children are put in harms way. I'm not sayin every drug user is like this but more than few are. For instance: the other day I heard about the cops going to this apartment where they got a complaint of children crying and wandering the halls alone for hours...when they entered the apartment(after breaking the door down from no response and hearing the kids) they found the mother druggedup and passed out ontop of her 1 yr old son and the father was passed out in the bathtub(which was ice cold by the way so he was in there for a while) and their 3yr old was wandering the halls and screaming while their 2 month old was crying in a diaper that had to of been 6 hours old by how bad they said the rash was and all that....

Its parents like these who make the laws the way they are(which I fully support being a non-drug user myself and hate everything about drugs). So chances are good for the child being put in protective custody if the father was arrested for drug use.

I don't honestly see why people would put their children at risk for a quick fix anyway....I would much rather get a natural high from seeing my daughters' smiling faces then a joint or a needle or anything of that matter.

  9. I don't think the child would be removed from both parents. But, he isn't setting a good example for his children. If they are school age, it could become very difficult for them if he would be caught. Imagine yourself in school, and other kids start teasing you because your dad is in jail for smoking dope.

  10. me and my friend used to go smoke pot in the bathroom when her baby was sleeping.  Once it started crying and she didn't hear it.  We thought it was funny.  She put it on the floor.  Someone should have taken her baby away.

  11. I don't think they are in danger of losing the child. But it is not being responsible as a parent. How are they going to be able to tell their children to not do drugs if they are doing it themselves? It's a bad example, not to mention bad parenting.

  12. My husbands a cop and they may not take the child away but he/she could be put on probation and may have to take urine tests randomly through out the month (which may cost up to $50 each time...I work at a Dr.'s office) Pot is illegal so just warn your friend they could get in a lot of trouble...just depends on how nice the cop is

  13. I smoke pot, but not around kids........That makes it legal right? Apparently the dope is getting to you, NO it is not legal no matter who is around to see you dopin up!
